Transport and Storage Tips for SEG Lightboxes

SEG lightboxes are built to travel — but a smart packing plan keeps them looking new for years. Whether you’re flying to a show or shipping freight, these transport and storage tips will protect your investment and speed up setup on site.

Choose the Right Cases

Start with molded or padded cases sized for your frames and LED components. Separate compartments prevent scuffs and protect wiring. If you’re using multiple walls, label each case clearly: Wall A, Wall B, Counter, Accessories, Power.

  • Weight matters: Keep individual cases under common carrier limits to avoid surcharges.
  • Foam dividers: Cushion LED bars and power supplies to prevent knocks during transit.
  • Wheels and handles: Make long convention-center walks much easier.

Pack Graphics the Right Way

Always roll SEG graphics with the image side facing out. Place each print in a protective bag or tube to avoid dust and abrasion. Avoid tight folds that can create creases visible under backlighting.

Cable and Power Management

Bundle cables loosely and avoid sharp bends. Keep power supplies in padded pouches and label voltage and connector types. Pack a small kit with gaffer tape, Velcro straps, spare jumpers, and adapters for different venues.

Shipping Options

For domestic travel, small kits can ship parcel while larger booths should go freight. Build in extra time for advance warehouse delivery when possible — it reduces stress and avoids last-minute show site fees.

Pre-Show Checklist

  • Do a quick test build a week before the event.
  • Confirm all LED connections and replace any questionable jumpers.
  • Print a setup card with frame order, wiring diagram, and QR link to your artwork proofs.

Storage Between Events

Store frames in a dry, temperature-stable space to protect electronics. Keep graphics rolled in labeled tubes or fabric bags. Avoid stacking heavy items on cases to prevent frame warping or lens scratches.

After the Show

Wipe down frames with a microfiber cloth, check connectors, and coil cables neatly. Inspect silicone edges on graphics for wear and re-stitch if needed. A few minutes of care after teardown saves hours later.
