LitBlocks Artwork Upload
Before you upload
Use the artwork template that matches the exact LitBlocks product, frame width, and selected height. Sending files on the wrong template can delay proofing.
- Already ordered? Include the LitBlocks order number and the product or configuration name.
- Uploading before ordering? Include the product link or exact frame size and height.
- Preferred file types: Print-ready AI, PDF, or PSD. High-resolution image files and packaged InDesign files are also accepted. Canva files are not accepted.
- Need design help? Use the flat-rate artwork design service.
Important: Uploading artwork does not start production. A digital proof is typically sent within 1 business day after usable artwork is received. Production begins only after you approve the final LitBlocks proof, and delivery is 5 to 7 business days after that approval.
Not sure which template or product applies? Request a written configuration check before uploading.
Artwork Guidelines
Use the template from the matching product page
Each LitBlocks display has product-specific artwork templates. Open the template from the product page and use the download icon in the browser to save it locally. Confirm that the template matches the selected frame width and height before designing.
Set image resolution correctly
Images placed on a full-scale template should be between 72 and 150 DPI. Some large templates are supplied at half scale to remain within Adobe canvas limits. For half-scale templates, use a minimum of 200 DPI. Review embedded images at 100% magnification before submitting the file.
Extend backgrounds through the bleed area
Fill the complete document or artboard with any background artwork intended to bleed. Additional bleed and crop marks are not required unless the template specifically says otherwise.
Build artwork in CMYK
LitBlocks graphics are printed using the CMYK process. RGB, HEX, and spot colors will be converted to CMYK and may shift. For color-sensitive projects, request written guidance through LitBlocks Support before approving the final proof.
Convert text to outlines
Save a final production version with fonts converted to outlines or paths. Keep a separate editable version because outlined text can no longer be edited with the text tool.
Embed images instead of linking them
Embedding placed images allows you to submit one complete print-ready file. Packaged InDesign files must include all linked images and fonts.
Use light backgrounds carefully
Large white or very light areas can make LED placement, frame shadows, or hotspots more visible. Darker colors, imagery, and controlled gradients generally create a more even backlit appearance.
Use large black areas carefully
Backlighting can make black appear lighter or shift toward blue, green, or gray. Avoid relying on large solid black fields when a precise black appearance is critical.
Submit a production-ready file
Preferred final formats are AI, PDF, or PSD. High-resolution JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and packaged InDesign files are also accepted, although editing flattened files is limited. Canva files are not accepted.
Artwork may be uploaded before or after a display order is placed. Production begins only after you approve the final LitBlocks proof.
