Maintaining and Cleaning SEG Lightboxes
SEG lightboxes are built to last, but like any professional display, they need a little care to keep them looking their best. Whether you’re exhibiting at multiple trade shows or maintaining a retail installation, proper maintenance ensures your graphics stay bright and your frame continues performing like new.
Why Maintenance Matters
Keeping your SEG lightbox clean protects your investment. Dust buildup, fingerprints, or worn silicone edges can impact how evenly light spreads through your display. A few minutes of maintenance after each use keeps your system glowing show after show.
Cleaning the Frame
The aluminum frame on your SEGO Lightbox is durable and scratch-resistant, but gentle cleaning is best. Use a microfiber cloth and mild soap solution to wipe down surfaces. Avoid harsh chemicals, alcohol-based cleaners, or abrasive pads — they can dull the anodized finish.
- Unplug the lightbox before cleaning.
- Use a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt or fingerprints.
- Dry thoroughly with a lint-free towel.
Cleaning the SEG Graphic
SEG fabric graphics are printed using dye-sublimation, which permanently infuses color into the fabric. They’re washable and reusable — just handle them gently.
- Remove the graphic from the frame before washing.
- Machine wash cold on gentle cycle using mild detergent.
- Air dry flat or hang dry — never use a dryer.
- Roll graphics for storage instead of folding to avoid creases.
Handling the Silicone Edge
The silicone edge is what gives SEG graphics their perfect tension. Avoid pulling or twisting the silicone strip too hard when installing or removing. If the edge shows signs of wear, it can be easily re-stitched or replaced.
LED Light Maintenance
SEGO lightboxes use built-in LED edge lighting designed to last tens of thousands of hours. Still, a quick visual inspection before each event ensures optimal brightness.
- Check connections for any loose plugs or bent pins.
- Look for any uneven brightness or flickering.
- Contact support if you notice issues — replacement LED strips are available.
Storage and Transport
When your event wraps up, proper storage helps extend your display’s life. Store frames in their soft carry cases and graphics rolled in tubes. Avoid placing heavy objects on top of packed frames to prevent bending or scuffs.

When to Replace Graphics
Even with proper care, graphics can lose vibrancy over time — especially if they’re exposed to bright light for months on end. A fresh set of prints every year or two keeps your visuals sharp and brand colors accurate.
Keep It Looking New
SEG lightboxes are designed to make your brand look world-class. With just a few minutes of care after each show, your display will continue to deliver flawless illumination and lasting performance.
